Corporal René DE QUEKER

Engineer Company

Born in Antwerpen on the 14th August 1924

Killed in Sallenelles on the 17th August 1944

Buried at Schoonselhof Cemetery in Antwerpen

 

It was on the 17th August 1944 at 14:30 hours that Corporal (De Queker) was killed by a mine. He died while part of the engineering team supporting the 1st Platoon of an armoured car squadron, which was trying to circumvent Sallenelles in the direction of Merville.
